Through more than thirty years in the technology industry I have gained significant experience in delivering Board and executive level commercial leadership across a broad range of vertical markets and solution spaces. I have experience of the full range of company types: from early stage, venture capital backed organisations to privately held and publicly listed companies, where I have variously served as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Sales Officer.

My experience makes me ideally placed to help deliver change, growth and manage transition within your organisation through consultancy, interim executive management and Non Executive Director services.

I am a results oriented, pragmatic leader who can call on my experience and extensive network to provide the appropriate advice, expertise and guidance in strategic business decision making.

About

Mantissa Consultants was founded by Jeremy Copp to provide consultancy services to small and medium sized enterprises in the technology, media and telecommunications markets.

Following my Masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering I was involved in the hardware and software design and project management for a number of technology solutions and products, mostly in the real time image processing and graphics markets. I rapidly transitioned to commercially focused roles, and have spent a majority of my career providing sales, marketing and corporate leadership to help define strategy and drive growth.

I have successfully formed relationships and closed multi-million dollar deals at executive level in multinational organisations globally, as well as raising venture capital funding. I have extensive experience of bootstrapping the commercialisation of new products and in building and executing sales and marketing plans. A number of CxO roles in early stage companies and  membership of senior management teams in larger public companies means I have the tools to effectively engage with your management team and staff.

My experience spans a wide range of solutions, including Big Data analytics, media measurement and insight, mobile applications, digital signage, workspace optimisation, online, mobile and out-of-home advertising and mapping. I have delivered growth in the telecommunications, media and technology space with customers such as Nokia, Samsung, Yahoo!, GroupM, Vodafone, Betfair, NTT DoCoMo, Orange, Ogilvy, Ericsson and Texas Instruments.

I provide interim executive leadership, non executive director and practical business consulting and advice services on a flexible basis to meet your needs. Engagements can be full or part time, and for a defined or open-ended duration depending upon your requirements.

I draw on my experience from holding Chief Executive Officer, Chief Sales Officer and Chief Commercial Officer roles in VC backed startup and privately held companies as well as an operational leader and entrepreneur to deliver results carefully matched to the clients’ needs without adding an inappropriate burden to their business. I would work closely with clients to define performance metrics and actionable plans that enable them to reach their goals.

Interim Executive

Experience of working as a Board executive in a range of different organisations enables me to rapidly and seamlessly integrate with existing teams, assess quickly what actions are required and deliver immediate results and add value to the organisation.

I am able to provide interim assistance at executive leadership, Board or managerial level on a full or part time basis, for as long a period as required to deliver the desired goals. My experience naturally lends itself to strategic sales, marketing or product management focused roles, but I can also bring key skills and experience to operational and leadership roles.

Non Executive Director

Extensive Board and corporate governance experience, coupled with a large connected network across a wide range of markets enables me to deliver effective advice and support to the executive team, CEO and Chairman without interfering. Where necessary I am able to provide mentoring to Board members and an independent, external view as a counter to internal thinking.

I aim to play an active role as non executive, and am willing to step in and help out as necessary to help my clients’ achieve their corporate goals.

Business Strategy and Growth Consultancy

Involvement in the business strategy definition and execution of growth in a number of organisations means I am in a position to help advise and actively contribute positively to change and transition in my clients’ businesses. Whether it is a holistic view for the whole business, the assessment or introduction of a new strand to the organisation or the definition of a new product line I can bring years of experience, practical advice and execution to help deliver the Board’s vision.

Commercial Leadership

As well as years of hands-on sales, marketing and communications experience, I have built a number of global sales and marketing organisations to help drive revenue growth and build market presence. Whether managing sales planning and growth, defining and delivering a marketing strategy, building partner ecosystems or business and market development I can bring effective advice and practical operational results.
